Triplet Challenge

I decided to do some Verve Stamps Sketch Challenges from the Splitcoast Forum... 3 little offerings for now, more to come, I think there will be 5 in total for the month. Play along if you have time...

The first challenge was not in my usual sketch realm, however asked for distressing which is right up my alley! I wanted to make a bright and cheerful hello card, so whipped out these fabulous papers from We R Memory Makers, the White Out Range... the lovely flocked ribbon made it onto this card as well, I wet and crumpled and distressed and inked up each panel. The base card has images from Petal Pizzaz applied with versamark, the next panel is distressed with colorbox chalk ink, the next a series of papers from the range applied in a diagonal and then distressed and inked, the top panel is distressed and carries some very funky vinyl thickers. I enjoyed making this card and think it is nice to see bright colours distressed and looking shabby from time to time.

I liked this sketch, thought it had a lot of possibilities, needed a sympathy card for the stash though so chose some muted tones and decided to use some Kelly Panacci Border stamps, joined together to make the feature strip, which is stamped in versamark and has two shades of chalk (pastels) applied, which was the twist for this challenge. I decided to use a double feature for the circle element with DSP behind and the sentiment stamped on acetate so that it could sit atop the hand cut border strip. The Kraft DSP is from Bella Bleu from SU. I added some scored lines and pearls to finish off... and rounded the corners on the TRHS.

I found this sketch rather challenging, it was very similar to another sketch recently and I thought the little extension tabs were rather odd, but managed to come up with something in the end... I based it on these fab Kraft Kuts papers from Fancy Pants Designs, check out the eyelashes on the owls, so gorgeous! The twist with this one was to include scored lines, which I added to the sentiment panel before stamping and adding the foam thickers. Not normally into such big bows, but the sketch kinda called for it, as did the card in the end, was very tempted to add some googly eyes to each of the owls :-}
